Pears have been my song and dance for the past week. I've canned some in a light syrup, and some in white wine. I still have lots of pears left, which I may just freeze, or actually, I may make pear jam. No reason to take the easy way out now.
Here's good-standard recipe for Pears in Light Syrup
When preparing the pears in white wine, I lightly simmered the wine, then placed the peeled, cored, and quartered pears in the simmering wine for 2-5 minutes.
