2009 B.C. Lieutenant Governor's Wine Awards

This month, the B.C Lieutenant Governor announced this year's winners of the Lieutenant Governor's Awards for Excellence in B.C. Wines. And am I thristy. With long summer days and warm evening, this is a perfect time to check out and pick out a bottle (or two) from this award winning list.


B.C. WINE AWARD WINNERS

Here are the 2009 winners of the Lieutenant Governor's Awards for Excellence in B.C. Wines:

-- Church and State, 2006 Syrah (Oliver and Victoria, $26)

-- Howling Bluff Estate Winery, 2006 Pinot Noir (Penticton, $30)

-- Joie Farm, 2007 Chardonnay, 2008 Riesling (Penticton, $30)

-- Peller Estates, 2007 Private Reserve Pinot Noir (Okanagan, Ontario, $19)
